stringAmerican Standard (plates) estate of Dalton Dillingham (rip) offered for sale by Bruce Sexauer at thestringbass.com |
Here
is a truly unique bass! I sold this bass as a 4 string to Dalton
Dillingham in the late 1990's and we proceded to morph it into its
present form over several susequent years. Although he had a half dozen
other string basses, most of which were considerably more expensive,
this is the bass Dalton mostly played. The bass is in good
playing condition and is ready to go back to work. Perhaps
surprising, given that it is a laminated bass, the Arco sound is
entirely up to its steller competence as a Pizzicato tool. The instrument is strung with Tomastic Spirocores, and includes a Pierre Josephs Pick up as well as John Knutson's extremely effective adjustable piezo system. I made the 2 string position (alters tension) Wenge Tailpice and the matching Wenge "waist grip" as well as adding wings to the fingerboard to allow the extra strings.. |
