"MysterSerious" 4 string solid Flat-back from the estate of Dalton Dillingham offered by "thestringbass.com" Dalton told me this bass was made in the late 1600's as a Viol D'Gamba with three strings. It certainly has a grafted neck. An it looks very old. Allegedly, it's flatsawn top is pine. It has clearly been reassembled from a catastrophe though I have no record of it aside from Dalton mentioning it to me, 15 years ago, that 30 years before that he had that work done. He believed the bass to be worth $100K US at the time, and maybe it is. 44" strings -- , Ebony fingerboard and tailpice |
