3/4 European Flatback Bohemian? Between the wars? I think so. |
This came from an estate sale in
the East Bay Area in early 2012. I do not know tha previous
owner's name. It had gut strings on it because the fingerboard was thin
and warped, but I put on a new ebony board and a set of Thomastics
making this one killer voiced bass. Plays like butter, too. Aside from
the typical open center seam in the middle of the back
(normal/normal/normal) and the regular wear and tear, this bass is in
surprisingly good condition. The neck has not been broken, nor the
back, and the little cracks at the join between the lower bout sides
and the C bout sides are ancient and can be addressed if and when the
bass requires disassembly, which is does not at the moment. $5800 Body length - 42.75" lower bout - 25 1/2" upper bout- 19 7/8" body depth - 8 1/4" string length - 40 3/8" bridge height - 6.0" |
